Steam Engineer
Job Summary
Skilled Steam Engineer proficient in the operation of [e.g., fire-tube and water-tube] boilers, water treatment chemistry, and industrial control systems. Adept at troubleshooting mechanical failures, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining precise operational logs. Job Responsibilities
- To examine, maintain, and be responsible for the safe operation of the boiler, including upkeep of the boiler's operation data and safety aspects.
- To supervise and train boilermen to operate the boiler in a safe manner.
- To liaise with DOSH to ensure safety standards and regulatory requirements are met.
- To liaise with DOE, correct air-fuel ratio setting to ensure smoke emission is within the allowable range.
- To source and perform production planning to avoid interruptions in production due to fuel shortage.
- To monitor fuel cost and fuel moisture content to ensure efficient use of energy.
- To comply with standard operating procedures and enforcement to achieve zero lost time accidents.
- Other duties assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
- At least an Advance Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- A competent & certified Steam Engineer Grade 1 or 2.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Steam Engineer in a highly automated manufacturing / plantation industry.
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
