SITE PLANNER
Job Summary
The Site Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure construction works progress according to plan. This role coordinates closely with design, procurement, and construction teams, tracks progress, manages resources, and provides accurate reporting to stakeholders and relevant authorities. The Site Planner also assists in identifying potential risks, supporting delay analysis, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to align timelines.
- Establish critical paths and monitor project milestones.
- Prepare look-ahead schedules (weekly/monthly) for site teams.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress of construction works.
- Compare actual progress with baseline schedule and flag deviations.
- Generate progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders and government bodies (e.g. JKR, LLM).
- Coordinate manpower, machinery, and material delivery schedules.
- Ensure that the deployment of resources matches project timelines.
- Forecast resource needs to avoid bottlenecks or delays.
- Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to streamline planning activities.
- Support the Construction Manager in coordinating overlapping works across multiple sections.
- Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Conduct delay analysis if there are claims or time extension requests.
- Provide technical input for EOT (Extension of Time) submissions.
- Ensure all planning documents comply with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized records for audits or claims.
- Present schedule updates in coordination meetings.
- Liaise with government agencies, especially if the project is under public funding or supervision.
- You will be required to work diligently and faithfully and carry out all the work assigned to you by management or your superior from to time to time.
- You are responsible for all the site issue including attend meeting, monitor the progress of works, planning and optimizing the manpower, resources and material at site.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction project planning or scheduling.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and drawings.
- Good coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with JKR, LLM, or other public authority requirements is an advantage.
- Willing to work on-site and travel as required.
