Senior Technical Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Technical Engineer leads and oversees technical coordination, ensures compliance with design, quality, and safety standards, and provides technical guidance across all phases of the project. The role involves supervising junior engineers, resolving complex site issues, and ensuring timely delivery of technical documentation and project milestones.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of the project, supporting the Project Manager in planning, execution, and monitoring of site activities.

  • Review, validate, and approve technical documentation such as method statements, shop drawings, and material submissions.

  • Oversee procurement activities by monitoring lead times, identifying critical items, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.

  • Manage and coordinate drawings, design changes, and documentation for consultant and client approval, ensuring alignment with project requirements.

  • Ensure all works adhere to contract specifications, engineering standards, and design intent.

  • Track project progress against the approved work program, highlight deviations, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Supervise subcontractors and junior engineers to ensure quality workmanship, technical accuracy, and adherence to project timelines.

  • Act as the main liaison with consultants, clients, authorities, and internal teams on all technical, design, and construction-related matters.

  • Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, construction records, and maintain proper documentation.

  • Drive and support QA/QC initiatives and ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and site procedures.

  • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost impacts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related fields.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, or design & build projects.

  • Strong expertise in construction methodology, technical drawings, project coordination, and problem resolution.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of MS Project or Primavera is an added advantage.

  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to guide junior team members.

  • Able to work independently, make sound engineering decisions, and manage multiple technical tasks efficiently.
