Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor supports project financial and contractual matters, including tendering, cost estimation, progress claims, and budget control. The role works closely with the Project Manager and Contract Manager to ensure accurate project costing, proper contract administration, and smooth coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diligently perform duties assigned by management or superiors as required.
  • Manage tendering activities for new projects, including quantity take-off and rate breakdowns.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to handle tendering, contract, and claim matters.
  • Establish and maintain proper claim systems with joint measurement at site.
  • Verify and certify subcontractor and supplier claims in a timely manner.
  • Monitor project costs and overhead expenses, alerting the Project Manager of any budget deviations.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Contract Manager in budget analysis and resource planning.
  • Review, study, and ensure full understanding of the Client’s contract terms and conditions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Preferrable with 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction. Fresh graduate is encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, contract administration, and progress claim processes.
  • Proficient in measurement, costing, and budget control.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, etc.).
