Manager - Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

This role leads the tendering process, from managing a QS team to preparing competitive bids, work together for engineering proposals, and cost negotiations. The Manager ensures accurate cost planning, strong supplier relationships, and effective project handover, playing a key role in securing and delivering commercially successful projects.

Job Responsibilities

Pre Tender

  • To lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors and support staff, providing guidance, 
  • To prepare quotation and tender document for commercial and technical submission.
  • Work on taking off to prepare Bill of Quantity for design and build tender.
  • To prepare detail value engineering proposal without changing the purpose of design. 
  • To source and update the contractor and supplier data base.
  • To attend tender interview, site visit and any relevant meeting.
  • To prepare the sample board if require.
  • To prepare sales related document such as project track record list, cover letter, tender report, pre qualification document, etc.
  • Advise on best strategies, or where necessary step in, to negotiate with external parties on costing, contractual terms, variation / change order and commercial agreements.
  • To be responsible for all QS reporting.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with clients and suppliers.

Post Tender

  • To prepare tender BQ rationalization upon receiving project LOA.
  • To assist in RFQ and sub con awarding upon require.
  • To prepare the VO quotation for awarded project if require.
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time by the Management.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in the interior design (ID) industry or related sectors
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle commercial and technical tender submissions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of interior design products, materials, and technical drawings
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Able to lead a team, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision
